Police to raid illicit internet cafes

Police will launch a massive raid on internet cafes and computer centres engaged in obscene activities, Central Province Senior DIG Gamini Navaratne said. The Dig said there are complaints of schoolchildren patronising these centres which provide facilities to have access pornographic web sites.

STF recovers more explosives, arms

STF personnel recovered a large stock of explosives and arms in Narakamulla and Laveniaru on Thursday.Police spokesman Senior DIG Nimal Mediwake said STF on information received launched a search operation and uncovered 1,385 anti personnel mines, 1,400 fuses and 3,280 T56 ammunition.
