STF recovers more explosives, arms

STF personnel recovered a large stock of explosives and arms in Narakamulla and Laveniaru on Thursday.Police spokesman Senior DIG Nimal Mediwake said STF on information received launched a search operation and uncovered 1,385 anti personnel mines, 1,400 fuses and 3,280 T56 ammunition.

The STF also recovered arms and ammunition hidden at Varikuttu junction. He said they have unearthed a Mayalan type GPS, 55 T56 ammunition, an LTTE webbing kit, a uniform similar to the Army uniform, an LTTE number tag and some other items.
