Police to raid illicit internet cafes

Police will launch a massive raid on internet cafes and computer centres engaged in obscene activities, Central Province Senior DIG Gamini Navaratne said. The Dig said there are complaints of schoolchildren patronising these centres which provide facilities to have access pornographic web sites.

"These centres have facilities to ensure privacy of individuals with enclosures.

Boys and girls visit these places. We have received numerous complaints to this effect," the DIG said.

The DIG called upon parents to be vigilant of their children visiting these centres and also requested them to provide information of these nefarious activities.
