Human smuggling: Malaysia transfer spot

MALAYSIA: Immigrants are using Malaysian coasts as a route to sneak into the nearby countries illegally, Malaysia's national media Bernama reported Monday.

The coasts of Selangor and Perak have been identified as pick- up points in the country for foreigners wishing to enter countries such as Australia illegally as they are closer to the borders of neighboring countries, said Marine Operations Force Region I commander Zainul Abidin Hasan.

He said that those arrested had entered Malaysia legally.
