New officials at Sinhaputhra
K. H. K. Wijayadasa has been appointed Sinhaputhra's new Chairman
with effect from August 1. The new Chairman of Sinhaputhra Finance Ltd,
Wijayadasa is a senior member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants
of Sri Lanka (ICASL) and he commenced his career at M/s B. R. de Silva
and Company, Chartered Accountants in the year 1965.
He had been inter alia a partner of Ms Ernest and Young, Chartered
Accountants, Kandy and Managing Director of M/s Inter Fashion Co. Ltd,
Nuwara Eliya.
He has been associated with Sinhaputhra since 1986 and has been
serving as a member of the Board from 1991 to date, where he made
immense contributions to the company over the years. Wijayadasa has been
the Chairman of the Company's Audit Committee since 1993. Nandana
Abeykoon has been appointed Director (Finance) of Sinhaputhra Finance
Ltd, Kandy with effect from 1, August 2009. He was educated at St.
Anthony's College, Kandy and he ventured out into a career of accounting
and joined B. R. de Silva and Company, Chartered Accountants, Colombo
where he succeeded in doing his articles. Thereafter, he became the
manager of its Kandy branch.
He joined Indra Traders Group of Companies who are actively involved
in the vehicle trade and finance. He functioned as the Group Manager
Finance and served in that capacity for a period of 10 years.
Saliya de Alwis has been appointed Director (Operations) of
Sinhaputhra Finance Ltd, Kandy with effect from 1, August 2009.
He had his education at St. Sylvester's College, Kandy and he
embarked on a career in Accountancy with B. R. de Silva and Company,
Kandy - a reputed firm of Chartered Accountants where he did his
articles.
De Alwis accomplished his articles and joined Central Finance Company
PLC. In 1992 he joined Sinhaputhra Finance Ltd and took up the
appointment of Manager (Deposits).
With his experience and knowledge in this field his excellent public
relations and the large sections of community personally known to him he
was able to develop the company's deposit base. |
