Government tells Channel 4:

Retract video

Scientific evidence proves it was a fake:

Human Rights and Disaster Management Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe yesterday said that the Government is going to ask the retraction of the controversial execution video from Channel 4, as comprehensive investigations and analysis conducted by four experts on the video have provided scientific evidence to prove that it was a fake and a heavily tampered video.

The TNA stressing the importance of jointly working for the wellbeing of the country and it's people yesterday emphasised that they are ready to cooperate with the Government to restore peace and prosperity in the country.

Now, a war against inefficiency - President

As much as the Government won the war which was described as unwinnable it will start a journey towards building a successful state by launching a war against inefficiency through correct leadership said President Mahinda Rajapaksa. The District Secretariats which have won the National Quality Certificate have fired the first salvo towards transforming public service into an efficient service, he said.
