Swimmer's father failsto settle hotel bill

A parent who accompanied a young swimmer who competed at the age group championship in Japan recently has brought discredit to Sri Lanka, said a senior official of the SLASU.

According to the official, the parent had left the hotel the previous day without informing the hotel authorities or the others.

On the day when the players and parents were to leave the hotel authorities have requested the fees from the others but they were not willing to pay the amount and returned.

The organisers of the meet in Japan has requested the SLASU to clear the bill as early as possible according to this official. He also said that the SLASU had made a complaint at the Cinnamon Garden Police against the errant parent.

It was said that the swimmer is from a leading school in Colombo.
