Seven Judge Bench hears plea

The Supreme Court yesterday appointed a seven Judge Bench to inquire into the motion filed by former Secretary to the Treasury P.B. Jayasundera and fixed the hearing for September 24.

Parties hand in nominations:

Ten political parties and five Independent groups handed in their nominations for the Southern Provincial Council elections yesterday. Nominations were accepted at the Galle, Matara and Hambantota District Secretaries Offices until 12 noon.
