House ownership for Govt servants in Galle

Government servants can now apply for ownership of 1,088 houses in
Habaraduwa and Wakunagda in the Galle District, Public Administration
and Home Affairs Minister and Deputy Finance Minister Dr. Sarath
Amunugama said.
He said the Ministry has plans to construct about 10,000 houses in
Kundasale, Kelaniya, Homagama and Ragama shortly.
The applicants will be required to make a ground payment of 10
percent of the total value of the house initially and reserve it. The
balance will be deducted from their monthly salary, the Minister said.
Applications received from the public servants will be reviewed
according to a points system stipulated by the Public Administration and
Home Affairs Ministry advertised in the papers of August 21.
The selection will be done by a committee comprising a representative
from the Public Administration, Home Affairs Ministry and National
Housing Development Authority and Board of Investment. |
