CPC funds Meesale station

The Meesale station on the Uthuru Mituru railway line to Jaffna from Vavuniya will be re-constructed with Central Provincial Council funds, said Central Province Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayake.

He told the Daily News that the station is expected to be in operation by the end of this year. Six million rupees will be spent on the project. Philanthropists of the Central province will also support financially for the construction of the station.

"Our main concern is to relieve families from poverty and develop the Central Province to the state of a developed city. We feel that it is not only development but also developing relationship which was once broken that is important. We initiated the idea to reconstruct the Meesale station which was once damaged by the war," he said.
