126th Ahamed Orabi Pasha Commemoration:
Book launch, annual awards ceremony
A special meeting will be held at Orabi Pasha Cultural Centre
Assembly hall, Kandy on August 15 at 10,00 a.m. under the patronage of
Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Sri Lanka Gehan Amin to
commemorate the arrival of Egyptian National hero Ahamed Orabi Pasha and
his six companions in Sri Lanka on January 11, 1883.
Director, Muslim Religious Cultural Affairs Y.L.M. Navavi will be the
guest of honour, the former State Secretary to the Ministry of Religious
and Cultural Affairs S.H.M. Jameel and the President of Dr. A.M.A. Azeez
Foundation will be the chief guest.
A book on Ahamed Orabi Pasha as a reproduction of the speech given by
late Dr. A.M.A. Azeez, edited by Kalabooshana M.Y.M. Meadh and Published
by Director M.H. Saleemdeen Orabi Pasha Cultural Centre in Collaboration
with the Dr. A.M.A. Azeez Foundation will be released as part of 126th
Anniversary Celebrations. The Annual Awards Ceremony and Exhibition of
the Vocational Trainees will also be held along with this Diploma
Certificates to the Pre School Teacher Trainees of the 2008 batch will
be awarded by Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs Ministry. |
