UNP getting downsized

The United National Party (UNP) is becoming a minor regional political party gradually and systemically. There is a significant change taking place in the political arena in Sri Lanka and the public is rallying round the Government, Cabinet Spokesman, Information and Media Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa said.

Court orders UNP Leader, General Secy to file objections

The Colombo District Court yesterday ordered UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe and its General Secretary Tissa Attanayake to file objections in connection with taking measures to suspend the party membership of Wattala Pradeshiya Sabha Deputy Chairman Anthony Michael Cooray.
