Eight illegal migrants in Indonesia return home
Four illegal migrants of the 55 Sri Lankan Tamils who were detained
in Aceh Province, by the Indonesian authorities under the Indonesian
Immigration Act when attempting to migrate illegally have agreed to
return.
These illegal migrants fled to Indonesia during the three decade
terrorism in the North and East.
They have expressed their willingness to return to their motherland
due to the restoration of peace and normality in the country.
Thayalaseela Thuraisingham from Jaffna, Suthagar Sakthivel from
Colombo, Velayuthan Ravichandar from Kandy and Thigarajah Stahyarajah
from Killinochchi are the four illegal migrants who volunteered to
return to Sri Lanka.
Apart from these four, Tamil migrants Satthvill Pradas, Sithravell
Santeev, Kumarasingham Suresh and Thiyagarasa Nareen, detained by the
Indonesian authorities since 2007 and 2008 have also agreed to return to
Sri Lanka.
Arrangements to coordinate the repatriation the eight Sri Lankans
have been made by the Sri Lankan Embassy in Jakarta.
They are expected to return to the country today. |
