Quality healthcare for IDPs

The death rate of the welfare villages in all five zones is same as
the death rate of the entire country. This is the best indication for
high quality healthcare services available for IDPs. This is confirmed
by the doctors, a Healthcare and Nutrition Ministry spokesman said.
He said communicable diseases such as diarrhoea, pneumonia, typhoid
and non communicable diseases such as shock, heart ailments, high blood
pressure, diabetes have declined. Such diseases were high in the
beginning. "Conditions have improved drastically since the Government
set up welfare villages," he said.
The Healthcare and Nutrition Ministry will make special arrangements
to protect IDPs' health during North East monsoon rains likely to
commence shortly.
