Lanka wins hearts of Indian travel industry
The Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB) and SriLankan Airlines
completed its most successful Indian promotion recently when they
covered three major cities Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai. The Sri Lankan

'The timing was perfect to address a vast gathering of Indian buyers
and media which SriLankan Airlines Managers brought to the venues in
each city, said Cooray. The primary message that was effectively
conveyed to the target audience was that profile, accessibility,
diversity and value that Sri Lanka could offer to Indian Corporates for
their meetings, cannot be matched.
The promotions included presentations, media conferences, one on one
meetings, food promotions and cultural presentations. The industry
offered special packages and some business has materialized almost
immediately. The Indian media responded with a large number of positive
articles following the interviews during these events.
SLCB GM Vipula Wanigasekera said the potential in India is unlimited
with regular promotions and the local industry is expected to take
advantage on the awareness and interest that were created through these
promotions and secure the business with their counterparts whom the
Bureau and SriLankan Airlines have reached out for meetings and
incentives in Sri Lanka'. |
