Omar Chief City Administrator

President Mahinda Rajapaksa has appointed former Colombo Mayor Omar Kamil as the Chief City Administrator with immediate effect, sources said.

This appointment will enable him to perform the duties of the Colombo Mayor and the Council, which was suspended some time ago due to various reasons, Kamil told the Daily News yesterday.

Kamil was an experienced Municipal Council member who entered the CMC in 1977 as a Member and became the Colombo Mayor from 1999 to 2002. Kamil is a product of Royal College, Colombo.
