Minister to open Dhanusha Marine factory

Dhanusha Marine Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. is the Parent Company of Dhanusha
Group. They specialize in manufacturing fibreglass boats for the local
and international markets.

The company commenced production with one helper in a small hut built
on a marshy land at Horethuduwa, Moratuwa. However, their vision was to
manufacture fibreglass boats using ultra modern technology and expertise
to cater to the international market.
By sheer hard work and dedication their fishing boats have become
popular among the fisherfolk. They have already captured the Maldivian
market.
They are the agents for Daedong Marine Inboard Engines from South
Korea.
The Managing Director G.S. Fernando received technical training in
the Netherlands. The raw materials are obtained from its sister company
K.K.K. Distributors (Pvt) Ltd which are imported from Malaysia, Taiwan,
India and the United Arab Emirates.
During the past fifteen years Dhanusha Marine has won several
prestigious awards including the Presidential Award 2007 and NCE Export
Award 2006 (Industry Sector Medium Category Bronze Award).
Dhanusha Marine Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, has a number of subsidiary
companies. K.K.K. Distributors (Pvt) Ltd. was set up in 1999, mainly to
import fibreglass raw materials.
It also acts as agents for various foreign raw materials suppliers
such as Revertex Malaysia, RP Products Malaysia and Jushi Group China.
KKK was the Gold Winner at the third and fourth Sri Lanka-Malaysia
Annual Business Awards in 2007 and 2008.
Dhanusha Marine Lanka Exports (Pvt) Ltd, a BOI approved company at
Fullerton Industrial Estate, Kalutara manufactures Fiberglass Boats,
Trailer Covers and Horse Trailer Covers for the export market.
They obtained the environmental licence to operate in a highly
residential area for almost two decades. They have devised various
methods to keep the environment clean.
Over the years the company has done a yeoman service by way of CSR
projects - the recipients being schools and places of worship.
July 16 will be a red letter day as the factory run by Dhanusha
Marine Lanka Exports (Pvt) Ltd, their newly formed sister company at
Fullerton Industrial Estate, Kalutara would be opened by Minister of
Industrial Development and MP for the Kalutara district Kumara Welgama.
