Hemas Manufacturing celebrates with Top Achievers

Hemas Manufacturing recently unveiled plans for the new financial year to its sales staff and marketing team at the Annual Sales Conference 2009/10.

The Chief Guest on the occasion was CEO of Hemas Holdings Husein Esufally. Managing Director Hemas Manufacturing Imal Fonseka, Director Sales (Consumer Brands) Anil Meegahage and several others were also present.

The keynote speaker Imal Fonseka said that despite a tough year and negative trends in the market, Hemas successfully achieved its objectives and realised it goals.

"The FMCG industry has gone through different stages from a manufacturing era to a sales dominated era followed by a consumer-oriented market-led approach. This is a continuous evolution which requires two fundamentals - the ability to innovate coupled with a profound awareness of shopping patterns.

Hemas, with its unique Sri Lankan heritage and understanding of the people, has thus demonstrated that we as a truly Sri Lankan entity can, with determination and commitment, face any multinational competition", he said.

The Director Sales (Consumer Brands) Anil Meegahage described the sales force as the veritable backbone of the company and complimented its members for a brilliant job done during the year in review.

"Last year, true to our theme, we stretched our limits to the maximum and achieved greater targets. Just like an army does, the sales force also carries on regardless of the rains, heat, dust, and holidays to make sure that objectives are achieved".

Meegahage said that in the backdrop of the current international economy slow down, one had two contrasting options. Firstly, to give excuses and lie low until times are better, and secondly, to be totally proactive and carry on with even greater vigour.
