'CNCI Achievers Awards 2009' for industrial excellence

The Ceylon National Chamber of Industries has organised the "CNCI Achievers Awards 2009" for Industrial and Service excellence for the eighth consecutive year. These Awards are open to all manufacturing, industrial and service sector enterprises in Sri Lanka, who have performed remarkably well and demonstrated significant achievements in their respective industrial sectors.

The Ceylon National Chamber of Industries is pleased to note the interest and the enthusiasm displayed by many industrial and manufacturing sector enterprises for their positive attitude in entering into this prestigious Awards competition.

The main objective of the national Awards competition will be to recognise the industrial, manufacturing and service enterprises in Sri Lanka who have achieved operational and overall enterprise excellence, thus contributing much to the development of Sri Lankan economy.

The CNCI believes that the Sri Lankan industries are capable of facing the global competition despite several set backs and is geared to face change and challenges.

As such industrial and manufacturing, processing enterprises who have performed well with remarkable and significant achievements who display resilience qualities will be recognised and awarded, thereby encouraging the Sri Lankan industries to continue their forward march.

The "CNCI Achievers Awards" is that all industrial enterprises in the micro, small, medium, large and extra large sectors representing the entire districts and provinces are given an opportunity to enter the Competition.

The most noteworthy change this year will be the inclusion of the micro and small sector rural industries in the Northern and Eastern provinces, entering the competition.

This initiatives taken by the CNCI in encouraging the badly hampered and battered small industrialists to stand on their own feet and to join hands with us displaying the brotherhood and friendship is of immense value to restore confidence and goodwill of the people.

The other significant feature of the competition is that all Sri Lankan industrial and manufacturing enterprises operating in SAARC countries, such as India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan and the Maldives are eligible to enter the competition.

The CNCI has gone beyond our shores to recognise Sri Lankan Industrialists in SAARC Countries.

The Achievers Awards are being monitored, evaluated and judged by some of the most prominent Panel of Judges comprising experienced longstanding experts and professionals in the field of industrial management, engineering, production, manufacturing, marketing, quality control, banking and finance and accountancy professions.

The CNCI Achievers Awards have been earmarked as a Benchmark of industrial, manufacturing, processing and Service Excellence in Sri Lanka.

All eligible enterprises are invited to enter the awards competition and applications can be obtained from the CNCI Secretariat at the Galle Face Court building or via email and the website.
