Defence Secretary pays glowing tribute to STF

The Police Special Task Force (STF) is one of the Forces who were
involved in bringing peace to the country after three long decades of
war carried out by the inhuman terrorist organisation, LTTE. Therefore,
our special thanks goes to the STF personnel for their brave acts
conducted during the war period, said Defence Secretary Gotabhaya
Rajapaksa when he met the STF personnel in Ampara District recently.

Mahinda Balasuriya, STF DIG K.M.L. Sarathchandra and DIG Operation R.W.M.
C. Ranawana received the Defence Secretary on his arrival at the Ampara
District to meet the STF personnel.
The Defence Secretary later inspected a guard of honour accorded on
his arrival by the STF personnel in the Ampara District.
“Not only myself but also the people of the Ampara District paid
tribute to the STF personnel who were in Ampara District for their
assistance to eliminate the LTTE terrorist organisation from the
country,” said the Defence Secretary.
The STF Personnel are also engaged in providing high security to the
VIPs. Their assistance is great and invaluable, said the Defence
Secretary. Appreciating the professionalism displayed by STF personnel
during the war, the Defence Secretary commended the dedication and
commitment of the STF.
The Defence Secretary was visiting Ampara District to pay tribute to
the STF personnel who were on duty during the three year old
humanitarian operation in the Vanni and the East.
The Defence Secretary with other Senior Officials inspected an art
exhibition and also took time to speak to the STF personnel about their
welfare.
