Ex-Army ruggerite Wickremage dies

The death occurred yesterday of former Isipatana, Sri Lanka Army and Defence Services ruggerite Jayantha Wickremage.

Wickremage who turned out for Isipatana in the mid 1960s joined the Army and turned out for them from 1969 to 1976 and also represented the Defence Services as a lock forward and was an excellent line out jumper. He was also an outstanding boxer who was adjudged Best Boxer in the Army.

His funeral will take place at the General Cemetery, Borella today at 5.00 p.m. with the cortege leaving Nimal Florists, Borella.
