Dilantha moving towards a new record
Dilantha Malagamuwa took the top spot after the third and fourth
rounds of the Aston Martin Asia Cup Motor Racing Championship held at
the Sepang F1 circuit recently. Dilantha who has won the Malaysian Super
Series twice is also competing in the same this year too.
Dilantha also becomes the first Sri Lankan driver to run in two
different championships on the same day. This achievement is sure to set
a new world record for motor racing as he managed to be on pole position
in both championships which could be considered as a world record.
First he won the Aston Martin Asia Cup Round III where he held the
pole position after the qualifying round. He was a clear winner in both
rounds III and IV.
Competing in the Malaysian Super Series he managed to win the first
event comfortably but failed to continue the winning trend in this
series as his vehicle came up with technical problems and had to content
with the second slot which also gave him the overall runner-up position
in this class with a deficit of 1 point behind Wira of Malaysia.
In the Aston Martin Asia Cup Championship he is well ahead of Mark
Williamson of Australia and Melvin Choo of Singapore. His intention this
year is to win both championships, Aston Martin Asia Cup and the
Malaysian Super Series to set a new world record as a Sri Lankan driver
which could bring lot of glory to his motherland.
