Helping hand from NYSC for IDPs

The trainees cut the hair of the displaced in Welfare camps.

The National Youth Services Council (NYSC) has implemented several projects in welfare camps in Vavuniya to coincide with the Government's Uthuru Vasanthaya Development program.

A group of trainees in beauty culture and hair dressing vocational training courses at the NYSC visited welfare camps in Vavuniya to serve the displaced. The trainees cut the hair of the displaced people, especially children.

The tour was organised by the NYSC Chairman and Director General Bhashwara Senaka Gunaratne on a request by Youth Affairs Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi.

Another group of hair dressing trainees will be sent to the welfare camps in Vavuniya to serve the displaced people", Gunaratne told the Daily News.
