Awareness campaign

To discourage underage drinking:

The students of the Interact Club at St. Bridget's Convent, Colombo visited the British High Commission as a part of their campaign to discourage underage drinking and driving under the influence of alcohol.

The High Commissioner, Dr. Peter Hayes, and other High Commission staff bought T-shirts with slogans promoting alcohol awareness from the students.

The funds raised from T-shirt sales will be donated to an alcohol rehabilitation centre and used to promote the Interact Club's campaign messages.

"The students from St. Bridget's Interact Club have put together an impressive campaign to tackle some of the social problems associated with alcohol misuse. We were delighted to support such a worthwhile initiative," a British High Commission spokesperson said.
