Lankan boys conquer Himalayan Peaks

The team that climbed Himalayan peaks.

A ten-member Lankan team of the Sri Lanka Adventure Force have successfully trekked the Everest Base Camp (5,364M) and Mount Kalapathar (5,545M) in Nepal.

The expedition undertaken under the patronage of the Sports Ministry, was completed within 37 days. The team included G.A. Sanjayakumara (Rahula Vidyalaya - Matara) Dhammika Walisundara (Dharmaraja Vidyalaya - Kandy) Upul I. Kulasekara (Thurstan Vidyalaya - Colombo) Amila Siriwardena (Ananda Vidyalaya - Colombo). Upul D. Palihakkara, Asanga K. Jayanath, P.K. Amila Maduranga Dumindra, C. Premachandra, K.I.R. Pradeep Kumara (all of Mahinda Vidyalaya - Galle) and Nilantha de Soysa (Dharmasoka - Ambulangoda.
