In first four months of '09:
Ceylinco Life's investment income up 44 percent
Ceylinco Life has reported a remarkable 44.5 percent growth in
investment income in the four months ending April 30, 2009, underlining
the strength of its diverse investment portfolio.
Gross investment income for the period at Rs 990 million reflected an
increase of Rs 304.8 million over the corresponding period of last year,
and boosted the total income to Rs 3,370 million, the company said this
week. Premium income for the corresponding period totalled Rs 2,379.8
million, marginally less than that of the first four months of 2008. The
company's Life Fund exceeded Rs 22.57 billion as at April 30, 2009, a
growth of 6 percent since December 31, 2008.
"These figures clearly illustrate the financial strength of Ceylinco
Life," the company's Director Palitha Jayawardena said. "They are also
indicative of the success of our investments management, in a
challenging market environment."
