British Deputy HC in Maldives

British Deputy High Commissioner to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, Mark Gooding was in the Maldives yesterday on a one-day official visit following the country’s first multi-party parliamentary elections.

His visit will focus on numerous issues related to UK/Maldives relations, including political and economic development, climate change, and police reform.

Gooding was to meet Maldivian President Nasheed, Foreign Minister Ahmed Shaheed, Defence Minister Ameen Faisal and other officials.
