Three new MPs

Three new Members of Parliament will be sworn-in to fill the vacancies created by the deaths of Justice Minister Amarasiri Dodangoda (Galle District), Alic Aluvihare, senior UNP Parliamentarian (Matale District) and K. Pathmanathan ITAK (Jaffna District).

Chaminda Weerakkody next in the list of the Galle District UPFA candidates, Nandimithra Ekanayaka next in the list of Matale District UNP candidates will be sworn-in when Parliament meets next Tuesday (9), Chief Government Whip and Urban Development and Sacred Development Dinesh Gunawardena said.

However, the name of the ITAK member to be nominated was not known, the Minister said.
