USD 50,000 donation for rural children

The Rythm Foundation (RF), Hong Kong, the CSR arm of the QI Group of Companies, has recognised the Foundation of Goodness (FoG) in its work to empower rural children and youth through productive activities.

A donation of USD 50,000 was made by Rythm representative Vilvarajan Vijayaratnam, on behalf of the Managing Trustee of RF, Vijay Eswaran, at the FoG Project Office in Colombo.

Founder of FoG Kushil Gunasekera who accepted the cheque said this donation will be used for the Village Heartbeat Empowerment model which includes English teaching, computer training, children’s goodness club, skills development, library facilities for disadvantaged children and youth in and around five villages including women’s enterprise.

The Foundation of Goodness, who they are partnering in Sri Lanka, has been working for the betterment of local villagers for ten years, with the aim of narrowing the gap between urban and rural territories.

Currently the FoG by way of 30 sectors provide better opportunities to 20,000 beneficiaries from over 25 villages with the emphasis on rural empowerment to create greater prospects for their future wellbeing and happiness.
