Sri Lanka Week in Melbourne

Lankans domiciled in Australia have organized a four-day long program
to educate the international community on how Sri Lanka is being rebuilt
after terrorism that has ravaged the country's progress for more than
three decades was wiped out by the Security Forces.
Education Minister Susil Premajayantha will elaborate on how the
Government expects to rebuild the war ravaged North and the East under
the Uthuru Wasanthaya and Negenahira Navodaya programs during the Sri
Lanka Week beginning from June 10 in Melbourne.
There will be special programs to promote tourism and trade in Sri
Lanka on the inaugural day.
The photographic exhibition which is scheduled to be held on June 11
at the Victoria Parliament.
The Chief Minister of the Victoria Parliament will inaugurate the
exhibition. Export Promotion and Enterprise Development Minister Mano
Wijeratne and Education Minister Susil Premajayantha are expected to
inaugurate a program to attract more investors to Sri Lanka on June 12.
The International community and the Sri Lankans in Australia will be
educated on the Immigration and Emigration laws and banking system of
Sri Lanka on June 13. They will also be made aware of the Api Wenuwen
Api housing project meant for the families of fallen and disabled war
heroes and the Security Forces personnel who have no shelter.
The Education Minister will also deliver a special lecture on Mahinda
Chinthanaya and Sri Lanka's future plans on June 14 which is final day
of the program. |
