Palestinian FM congratulates Lanka’s victory

Palestinian Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. Riad Malki has congratulated Foreign Affairs Minister Rohitha Bogollagama on the defeat of terrorism.

“It gives me great pleasure to convey to your esteemed Government and to the Sri Lanka people my heartfelt congratulation on the defeat of terrorism and the successful end of nearly three decades of violence and suffering in your sovereign nation”.

“I wish with this successful end to the war on terror that all communities will usher in an era of peace and prosperity in a United Sri Lanka.

“I am happy to note that Sri Lanka and Palestine have enjoyed strong bonds of friendship during the past decades which have led us to adopt a constructive and cooperative approach toward many bilateral regional and international issues of importance.”

“In this instance, I take this opportunity to thank President Mahinda Rajapaksa, your Government and the people of Sri Lanka for the continuous support extended to the Palestinian cause”.

“I hope that soon we will also be able to celebrate together the declaration of the State of Palestine with Jerusalem as its Capital,” the message said.
