General liability insurance cover for Rotarians

In recent years many countries have seen a rapid increase in the number of cases involving General Liability claims. People have become increasingly aware of their legal rights through better education and the publicity given to awards of damages while the law has gradually made it easier for the injured party to secure damages.

Every person in the conduct of his affairs owes to every person a duty of reasonable care and if there is a failure in this duty the failure results in bodily injury or damage to property.

Rotarians perform various functions according to the District and the Club action plans and having realized the duty of care have availed themselves general liability insurance coverage arranged by Strategic Insurance Brokers (Pvt) Ltd. This cover also complies with one of the conditions stipulated by the Rotary International Board for the effective functioning of a Rotary Club.

As the General Liability Insurance Policy arranged by Strategic Insurance Brokers (Pvt) Ltd, covered such risks, RI District 3220 thought it best to avail this cover.

The insurance covers, legal liability against accidental bodily injury/illness, disease or accidental loss or damage to property of third parties. Insurance cover for a period of one year was presented to District Governor - Nalin Fernando by Indrajith Fernando, CEO, Bartleet Transcapital Ltd, Holding Company of Strategic Insurance Brokers (Pvt) Ltd, at the 18th Rotary District Conference held at the Mount Lavinia Hotel.
