Anuradhapura sacred city development scheme:

No temple will be affected

Not a single place of worship coming under the temple category will be dismantled under the proposed Anuradhapura Sacred City Development Scheme, said the Urban Development and Sacred Area Development Ministry dispelling fears expressed by some quarters that some temples are earmarked for dismantling under the proposed scheme.

Turnover up 6.85 percent to Rs 11 billion in 1Q:

ComBank makes prudent start to new fiscal year

The Commercial Bank of Ceylon Group has posted a turnover of Rs 10,982 million in the three months ended March 31, 2009, a growth of 6.85 percent.
