Favourite teams oblige

All favourite teams registered comfortable victories in the 2nd round matches of the Holcim FA Cup 2009 played during the weekend throughout the island.

Pelicans SC from Kurunegala recorded the best win defeating Sri Lanka Ports Authority SC by 5 goals to 1 at Kelaniya.

Meanwhile Navy SC also had a good win against Sri Lanka Transport Board SC 4-0 at Welisara.

The other match results: New Rise SC beat New Star SC 4-3 at Cooray Park, Jupiters SC beat Premier SC 2-1 at Kadolkele grounds, Kalutara Park SC beat Zavia SC 3-0 at Kalutara, Sarasavi SC beat Colombo SC 1-0 at Obeysekerapura, Moragasmulla SC beat Old Wesleyites SC 3-0 at Moragasmulla.

Dharga United SC beat Great Star SC 2-1 at Beruwala, Golden Star SC beat Hyline SC 2-0 at Bogambara, Sisu SC beat Gamaliya SC 3-1 at Trincomalee.
