Police stations for liberated areas

The Police Department had set up 37 Police stations in the Eastern Province and seven in the Northern Province including in Madhu and Omanthai, IGP Jayantha Wickramaratne said. He was addressing the 47 Chief Inspectors who will follow the Advance Diploma in Police Science Course at the Police Headquarters yesterday.

He said, this is a historic day for Sri Lanka. The Three Forces and the Police have taken over the control of all the LTTE controlled areas. We are proud to say that under the able leadership of President Mahinda Rajapaksa the entire Sri Lanka is now under one flag, the IGP said.
