Golden Stars win 2-0

Golden Stars Sports Club, Kandy, pulled off a fine 2-0 win over home town rivals Hylines Sports Club, Dangolle in the Holcim FA Cup return game played at the Bogambara Stadium in Kandy on Sunday. All scoring was done in the second half.

Golden Stars opened scoring early in the second half with a penalty kicked by centre forward S. Ratnasiri awarded for an infringement inside the penalty box.

Midway in this half left extreme Mohan Raj in a 20-metre effort banged the second goal to consolidate.

Hyline Sports Club could have reduced the lead in the 20th minute as a penalty awarded to them was kicked astray.

S. Kosala refereed.
