Gateway netball champions

Gateway College, Colombo emerged champions of the Inter-International Schools Under-15 Netball Tournament and were runners-up in the Over-15 Netball Tournament, organised by Colombo International School that was held at the Shalika Grounds on the 14th and the 15th of March 2009.

In the Under-15 Netball Tournament, Gateway College beat Colombo International 9/2, Leighton Park 9/1 and Royal Institute 12/Nil in the group matches and went on to beat Stafford International 8/2 in the semi-finals. In the finals Gateway College beat OKI International School 14/6.

Sandali Weerasinghe was crowned Netball Queen in the Under-15 Tournament and Pasini Withanage was awarded the Best Defensive Player. In the Over-15 Netball Tournament, Gateway College beat Asian International 14/3, OKI International 11/4 and British School 16/01 in the group matches and went on to beat Lyceum International (Wattala) 10/5 in the semi-finals. In the finals Gateway College lost to Royal Institute 8/10. Vijini Dahanayake was adjudged the Best Centre Court Player.
