‘Leadership change will not help UNP’


A leadership change will not help the UNP to ward off successive election defeats unless there is a change in its fundamental policies, said Labour Relations and Manpower Minister Athauda Seneviratne.

Ranil remains UNP leader


The UNP Working Committee which met yesterday re-appointed Ranil Wickremesinghe as the party Leader. It was also decided to formulate the party constitution to devolve more powers among the Deputy Leader Karu Jayasuriya and the Working Committee which were earlier entirely vested with Party Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe.
