Munchee has once again come forward to extend its assistance for Commonwealth Youth Gold medallist Shehan Ambepitiya. An agreement to this effect was signed at the CBL Head Office recently.

The ultimate objective of Munchee Sponsorship is to help Shehan Ambepitiya to win a medal at the next Olympic Games. The partnership between CBL and Shehan Ambepitiya started three years ago when he was a budding but not a popular athlete.

However Munchee believed Ambepitiya had the potential and the capability of rising to the top and decided to sponsor him following a request by R.I.T. Alles Chairman and founder of the Gateway International College.

Nandana Wickramage Group Director and the Head of Marketing of Ceylon Biscuits Limited said that as a local company they are pleased to help a talented sportsman who is striving to become the country's third athlete to win a medal at the Olympic Games after Duncan white and Susanthika Jayasinghe.

The Munchee Sponsorship will span over four years and from the second year onwards CBL will make a 20% increment to its annual grant depending on athlete's performance.

This sponsorship will cover Ambepitiya's expenses for overseas training, and participating in some of the major International meets here and abroad.
