Matara battle a tame draw

The 109th Big Match between St. Thomas College and St. Servatius College, Matara played at the Uyanwatta Stadium, Matara ended in a draw.

St. Servatius who batted first were all out 201 in 92.5 overs. Skipper Chathura Gayan 64 runs including 10 fours and two sixes was the top scorer for the St. Servatius.

St. Thomas declared at 283 runs for nine wickets in 105 overs with M. Ekanayake 68.

At stumps St. Servatius were 78 for four wickets in 41 overs.

St. Servatius: First innings 201 all out (Chathura Gayan 64, G. Kalhari 36, Ayesh Dilanka 24, M. Ekanayake 3/62, A. Ranasinghe 3/4, N.R. Ranaweera 3/22). And 78 for four wickets in 41 overs (S.K. Ediriweera 40 n.o., A. Dilanka 26 n.o., M. Ekanayake 1/35, N. R. Ranaweera 1/1).

St. Thomas: First innings 283 for nine wickets declared (K.M. Attanayake 58, M. Ekanayake 68, D.W. Sameera 31, K. Madusanka 4/12).
