Mine explosion

Three soldiers were injured when Troops engaged in route clearing in Bakmitiyawa in the Ampara district were caught in a land mine explosion and the injured were admitted to the Ampara General Hospital yesterday.

Military spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara said this land mine was buried by the Tigers before they were driven away from the area by the troops.

This land mine remained undetected by the troops.
