The Excise Department on a tip- off yesterday raided a heroin den in Kolonnawa and arrested two suspects with 250grams of heroin valued over Rs. 1 million.

According to Excise Department Superintendent (Special Operations) Upul Seneviratne, this has been one of the major heroin distribution centres in the Colombo district which has been in operation secretly for a number of years. A three wheeler used by heroin dealers was also seized and the Department officials are following several leads to nab other suspects involved in the distribution of heroin in Colombo and the suburbs.
