Bus brawl brings vehicular traffic to a standstill

Drivers and conductors of two buses plying on A9 road at Katugastota are reproted to have suddenly stopped their vehicles and engaged in a brawl bringing the movement of all vehicles into a standstill for about half an hour.

The Katugastota police produced them before Kandy Magistate who remanded them till March 24.

The Hatton bound bus from Dambulla is alleged to have obstructed the other bus plying to Kandy from Handungamuwa, Katugastota OIC police, Saranath Samarakoon said.

Meanwhile, the imminenet danger of one bus moving towards Pinga Oya was halted when a pasenger applied the brake and stopped the vehicle.
