Indian arrested for running human-trafficking racket
Suspected had Lankan, Indian passport:
A man was arrested in New Delhi, India for allegedly running a
human-trafficking racket and sending people to Europe using forged
documents, police said.
"Ravi Kalra, 40, was arrested on the complaint of one Nazir Hassan,
whom he had given assurance that if he would pay him Rs 4.5 lakhs then
he would facilitate his passage to Europe via South Africa," they said.
Police has recovered three Indian and two Sri Lankan passports along
with Rs 1.07 lakhs from Kalra.
But Hassan was caught in South Africa and was put in jail for
travelling on a fake document.
The arrest came after Hassan, who was deported back to India, lodged
a complaint against Kalra. Times of India. |
