International hockey ground for Panadura

Dr. Rajitha Senaratne, the Minister of Buildings, Engineering and Constructions, said an international hockey ground is under construction in Panadura at a cost of Rs. 20 million and the first international hockey match will be played next year.

He stated so addressing a ceremony held at the Panadura Esplanade on Friday to present Rs. three lakhs worth of hockey materials to six schools hockey teams in Panadura Division.

He paid a glowing tribute to Panadura Division Senior Superintendent of Police and the President of Sri Lanka Hockey Association Sumith Edirisinghe for taking action to encourage hockey players.
