Police, Navy, Prison vacancies:
HRCSL training for recruits

The Prison Department has recruited around 650 new officers to fill
vacancies at the Department. At present, training programs are conducted
in Colombo and other training institutes.
Commissioner General of Prisons Vajira Wijegunawardena had invited
the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) to conduct training
programs with a new look.
The HRCSL will commence training programs in Colombo, Embilipitiya
and Balangoda Training Centres of the Prison Department - on how to work
without stress in a difficult environment, fundamental rights and
remedial institutions and duties of prison officers.
HRCSL training for new police officers
The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) is also to conduct
an awareness programme for the newly recruited police officers on human
rights, fundamental rights and of remedial institutions which is to be
held today at the Police Training Institute Elpitiya.
HRCSL training for Navy
The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) was invited to
provide training for Navy training officers recently. The program
comprised laws relating to the sea, humanitarian law, human rights law.
The role of HRCSL, better communication methods and training
methodologies were also discussed. The next program will be held at the
Navy Training Centre in Colombo shortly.
