A decision on the cards

Twenty four wickets fell on the first day of the inter-school cricket match between Trinity College and Isipatana College which began at the Asgiriya Stadium in Kandy yesterday, and a decision looks certain.

The Pathians who took first strike were all at sea against this season's formidable spin attack of Akila Jayasundera who took 4 for 30 and skipper Rushan Jaleel did one better to capture 5 for 44.

Isipatana College who batted a second time after tea had made 105 for 4 at stumps in 29 overs.

Isipathana 127 (N. Sasanka 38, R. Jaleel 5 for 44, A. Jayasundera 4 for 30) and 105 for 4 wickets (N. Sasanka 39).

Trinity 151 (S. Wijesuriya 26, R. Jaleel 41 n.o., M. Sajeed 22, A. Deemantha 6 for 70).
