Okanda Finance:
Directors ordered not to leave country

Hapuarachchi yesterday ordered the directors of the Okanda Finance
Company not to leave the country without prior permission of the Court.
The Judge made this order on an application by Senior State Counsel
Dulip Jayakody who produced an affidavit of Central Bank (CB) Director
Sirisena Sepala Ratnayake. The Judge directed the directors of the
Okanda Fiance Company to file their objections, if any, on the next
date, January 30.
CB Officials submitted to court that the directors of the Okanda
Finance Company had failed to supply the information requested by them.
Senior State Counsel Dulip Jayakody moved court to suspend the
passports of the directors of the Okanda Finance Company as they are
planning to leave the country. Senior State Counsel Jayakody also moved
court to direct the Officers in Charge of the respective Police
stations, where the directors of the Okanda Finance Company are living,
to submit a report to court in connection with their movements. The case
will be called on January 30. |
