Seminar on Conflicts of Interest

The Institute of Chartered Corporate Secretaries of Sri Lanka (ICCS) has organised a half-day workshop on January 29 from 1.30 p.m. at the Taj Samudra on Conflicts of Interest and Related Party Transactions.

In beeping with the Companies Act 2007 and the Sri Lanka Accounting Standard 30 (Revised 2005) on Related Party Disclosures, the seminar will have eminent experts expressing their opinions on the subject culminating with an open forum chaired by the President of the ICCS Prof. M.T.A. Furkhan.

Former Chairman of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Chandra Jayaratne will make a presentation on 'A new paradigm for managing conflicts of interest' followed by Chairman, Hatton National Bank Rienzie T. Wijetilleke on the workshop's objectives.

President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka Nishan Fernando brings in the paradigm of financial reporting into the seminar with his paper titled, 'Financial Reporting Aspects in relation to Related Party Transactions', which will lead to an hour's open forum.
