Palestine Solidarity Committee protests Israeli attack on Gaza

Muslims of the Sri Lanka Committee for Solidarity with Palestine
handed over a petition to the United Nations Office in Colombo to be
delivered to the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon urging the UN to
intervene immediately to help stop the Israeli massacre of the
Palestinian people and hold those responsible for it.
“The trust, the reputation and the raison d’etre of the UN will be
judged by the world population on this ability to enforce peace and
justice,” the petition said.
Among the signatories to the petition are Western Province Governor
Alavi Mawlana, Kabir Hashim MP, Rauf Hakeem MP, Vijitha Herath MP, Wimal
Weerawansa MP, Imthiasz Bakeer and several others.
Meanwhile, Bimal Ratnayake MP, in a statement issued on behalf of
Peace and Solidarity Organisation affiliated to the World Peace Council
vehemently condemned the Israeli attacks on Gaza and called upon the
peace-loving people of the world to continue to express their
condemnation in the strongest manner possible. |
